Newspaper ads send shoppers to the web

Research from Google has show that the most common response to a successful newspaper ad was online research.

Of the 44% of people who researched at least one product they saw advertised in a newspaper;

• 67% of them used the web for further research
• 48% visited a store
• 23% asked a friend
• 23% called a store

70% of shoppers who go online after seeing ads in newspapers make purchases following their additional research.

The original research papers are available at the NAA web site.
